Being Fearless and Chasing What You Want

Stephen Shortt

Have an end goal

You need to have a vision of where you want to end up. That could be a house, a car or being financially secure. Focusing on the money you'll make this month won't be enough motivation to get you through those tough times.

Success is a one way street

If you really want to hit a goal then quitting isn't an option. Close the back door and be content that there will only be one outcome. It's a matter of how long it takes, not will it happen.

"Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm."
- Winston Churchill

Play your own game

Don't get distracted by other peoples success or failure. They could be building a house of cards.

Don't get caught up in snap shots

A bad day or a good week isn't life changing. Keep a cool head either way and focus on an end goal. A snap shot of any moment isn't the full story.

Think what if I do succeed

You've got to be optimistic not pessimistic. Be your own best promoter and motivator. You talk to yourself more than anyone else, so constantly tell yourself how good you are. "Most people wouldn't succeed now, but I'm not most people I'm Stephen Shortt". This phrase helped me hit my goal in so many doubtful situations, use it when everything points to failure. (obviously use your own name.)

Be fearless

Put your head where most wouldn't put their foot. You need to go in hard and have belief. It's like sports if you go soft into a tackle you get injured, if you go hard you don't. It's all about the blind faith.

Take what you want

No one is going to hand you success you have to fight, kick, graft and grab it for yourself.

"In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure."

-- Bill Cosby
